Team Peugeot TotalEnergies is beginning the next chapter in the evolution of the PEUGEOT 9X8 ahead of the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
Drawing on lessons learned since the car’s debut in the Hypercar category, the team is working through a series of technical updates aimed at improving performance, efficiency and competitiveness.
This latest step marks a significant milestone in the 9X8’s ongoing development, as the team works toward approval of its planned changes for 2027.

Emmanuel Esnault, Team Principal of Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, said the 9X8 has been a platform in constant evolution since its debut, and that competing at the highest level of endurance racing means continuously learning, adapting and progressing.
He said the intensity of world championship competition reinforces the team’s determination to keep pushing forward, with a clear objective: positioning the 9X8 consistently among the top contenders. Looking ahead to 2027, Esnault said the team is taking the next step in its development, centered on a revised approach to performance, efficiency and design — work he described as a key milestone in preparing the next chapter of the 9X8’s story and continuing Peugeot’s legacy in endurance racing.
