Alpine’s One-Off Lacoste A290 Rallye Debuts at Chantilly

알핀 라코스테 A290 랠리, Alpine Lacoste A290 Rallye to star at Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille

Alpine will show a one-off creation called “Beware of the Crocodile – Alpine Lacoste A290 Rallye” at this year’s Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille on September 13, serving as the centerpiece of a lineup that also includes heritage models spanning 70 years of Alpine’s history alongside cars from the brand’s customer and club community.

The car is a genuine collaboration between Alpine and Lacoste, taking its central design cue from the red of Lacoste’s crocodile-logo tongue and carrying that detail through both the exterior and cabin. It’s built on the Alpine A290 Rallye, the most extreme and performance-oriented version of the A290, positioning the car as a piece that sits somewhere between motorsport hardware and lifestyle object.

Performance With a Lifestyle Twist

Mechanically, the car stays true to Alpine’s electric performance identity, with widened tracks, a reinforced braking system and dedicated electric powertrain management delivering the sharp response the A290 Rallye platform is built around.

Inside, an all-red cabin uses Lacoste’s signature petit piqué fabric for a motorsport-inflected take on elegance, with 290 individual crocodile references worked into the design throughout. The car will be on display at Alpine‘s stand at Chantilly and will also take part in the event’s Concours d’élégance runway presentation.
