Buick has launched the all-new LaCrosse in China, the fifth generation of the nameplate in the market and the brand’s first combustion-engine sedan built on the China-specific Xiaoyao architecture.
The car brings 50 upgrades across design, performance, comfort and intelligent technology. It is offered in two trims, with limited-time customer benefit pricing from RMB 149,900 to RMB 169,900. Vehicles are already at dealerships nationwide, and deliveries have started. The launch also marks 20 years of the LaCrosse name in China.
Proportions and Design
The sedan features Buick‘s “Spread Wings” front fascia, wing-shaped chrome on the LED headlamps and grille, and a dual-channel airflow design. It measures 5,003 millimetres long, 1,866 millimetres wide and up to 1,466 millimetres high, with a 2,905-millimetre wheelbase that Buick says leads its segment.

Standard 19-inch wheels carry segment-exclusive Bridgestone Turanza self-sealing tyres. A new Bamboo Green premium paint uses a higher-standard process designed to resist scratches, stone chips and corrosion.
Powertrain and Chassis
Every model uses Buick’s eighth-generation 2.0T Ecotec engine with a nine-speed automatic. It produces 174 kW and 350 Nm, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.
The chassis went through more than 200 calibration programmes for Chinese road conditions, and it uses a four-link independent rear suspension to balance comfort, handling and high-speed stability.
Cabin, Technology and Driver Assistance
The interior is styled as a wraparound, yacht-inspired space with soft-touch materials, metal accents and wood-grain trim. Front seats are heated, ventilated and massaging, and the higher trim adds full-function rear seats. An 11-speaker Bose Centerpoint system and 121 colours of ambient lighting complete the cabin.

The LaCrosse is the first gasoline model in its segment, and among China’s joint-venture cars, to use Doubao AI large-language-model technology. It supports multi-turn conversation and memory-based interaction across companionship, entertainment, vehicle use, travel and vehicle control.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip powers a 15.6-inch centre display, and the car supports Apple CarPlay, HiCar and CarLink, plus 720p wireless mirroring.
All trims include automatic parking assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centring, a 360-degree camera with drive recorder and driver-monitoring alerts. The higher trim adds smartphone remote parking from up to 10 metres away.
