HondaJet Classic and APMG owners across the European Union can now access the latest improvements developed for the HondaJet family.
The change follows type validation of the APMG S upgrade package by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The validation also widens the preowned HondaJet market. Buyers can now purchase an earlier aircraft with a defined route to APMG S enhancement, or choose a preowned aircraft that has already been upgraded.
Honda Aircraft Company offers the APMG S modification package through its Greensboro, North Carolina Service Center and its global network of Authorized Service Centers. In Europe, installations are handled by Rheinland Air Service in Germany, a HondaJet Authorized Dealer.
What the Upgrade Changes
The package upgrades avionics hardware and software for faster processing, creating a base for future technology across the legacy fleet. It brings the Advanced Steering Augmentation System, first introduced on the HondaJet Elite S, to improve handling precision and crosswind capability.
Maximum takeoff weight rises by 300 pounds (136 kilograms) over legacy aircraft, adding useful load and operating flexibility. Graphical weight and balance lets pilots calculate takeoff and landing weights quickly from loading and fuel data.
With certifications now in the United States, Mexico and the European Union, the company says the package is available to the vast majority of the global HondaJet fleet. Additional international validation applications are pending, and the company will announce them when they are granted.
Performance Figures
The upgraded aircraft has a range of 1,359 nautical miles under NBAA IFR reserves with four occupants. Its maximum cruise speed is 422 knots, or 486 mph (728 km/h), and its maximum cruise altitude is 43,000 feet. Each engine produces 2,050 pounds of thrust, derated from 2,095 pounds-force. Maximum takeoff weight is 10,900 pounds (4,944 kilograms).
Amod Kelkar, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Honda Aircraft Company, said the company aims to add value through innovation across the ownership journey. He said the enhancements are now available to more customers in Europe and support the wider HondaJet community.
