Lexus will begin selling the partially updated LBX on November 3 through its dealer network across Japan. The LBX was created to challenge the idea of what a luxury car must be, offering refined driving and design in a compact body.
Since its launch in December 2023, Lexus says it has sold about 130,000 LBX units in more than 60 countries and regions, as of the end of August 2026.
Ride and Steering Tuned at Shimoyama and the Nürburgring
Lexus develops its models under the “Lexus Driving Signature” philosophy and works continuously on basic performance. The LBX’s handling and ride were first refined at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama. For the update, engineers changed the plate thickness of the centre cross member to raise body rigidity. They then tested and tuned the car extensively on the Nürburgring, which Lexus describes as the origin of the Shimoyama facility and a demanding surface for ride testing.
The changes include revised shock absorber valve characteristics, which Lexus says give more supple body control and a sense of security on rough roads, with better road contact for the driver and a flatter ride for passengers. Revised electric power steering control aims for a more natural, reassuring feel. Lexus says the setup balances easy handling in car parks and city streets with stability on winding roads and motorways.
Standard Equipment and Colours
Every LBX now includes a colour head-up display with linked steering switches and a drive recorder. A new “Sou” exterior colour, with blue effect highlights, joins the range. The “Relax” and “Elegant” trims offer all monotone colours, while “Cool” and “Active” offer all two-tone colours and Black Mica.
