Mercedes-Benz has launched “I am Mercedes,” a new women’s fragrance built around the brand’s own history of pioneering women.
The name nods to Mercedes Jellinek, for whom the brand is named, and to Bertha Benz, who completed the first successful long-distance motor car journey in August 1888, driving from Mannheim to Pforzheim. Mercedes-Benz frames the fragrance as a tribute to that same spirit of self-assured, boundary-pushing women.
A Scent Built in Three Layers
Master perfumer Sophie Labbé developed the fragrance around a structure that opens with fresh neroli, bergamot and a touch of pink pepper, moves into a floral heart combining orange blossom, jasmine and ylang-ylang for what Mercedes-Benz calls a contemporary, luminous bouquet, and settles into a base of rich vanilla, warm woody notes and soft musk with amber undertones.
A Flacon Shaped Like a Diamond
The bottle itself takes the form of a diamond-cut glass flacon that subtly reworks the shape of the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star, with a salmon-pink hue to the liquid inside adding a delicate, sensual quality.
A metallic pink cap carries the star emblem, and the flacon’s neck bears a handwritten “I am Mercedes” inscription.
A Campaign Built Around a Classic Car

The fragrance’s launch campaign follows a protagonist driving a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda Cabriolet, framing the car as a symbol of freedom, style and elegance and the fragrance itself as her chosen companion for the journey — an expression of personal style rather than just a scent. “I am Mercedes” Eau de Parfum is available in 100ml, 50ml and 30ml sizes.
