Hyundai Motor Group is hosting its HMG Tech Talent Forum in Silicon Valley on September 17-18, part of an effort to attract technology professionals as the company expands further into Physical AI and robotics.
The event, held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, brings together nine Group affiliates and partners — Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Motor America, Kia Corporation, Kia America, Hyundai America Technical Center, Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, Boston Dynamics, Motional and 42dot — to give attendees a direct look at the Group’s technology strategy and career opportunities through keynotes, panel discussions, project showcases, hands-on exhibits and career consultations.
Keynotes and a Leadership Panel
Several senior Group leaders are delivering keynote addresses on the company’s technology direction and talent strategy, including Hyundai Motor Company President and CEO José Muñoz, R&D Division President and Head Manfred Harrer, Advanced Vehicle Platform Division President and 42dot CEO Minwoo Park, and Chief Human Resources Officer Hae In Kim. A separate Leaders Panel Talk expands that group to include Electrification Energy Solutions Tech Unit head ChangHwan Kim, Boston Dynamics Chief Product and Technology Officer Zack Jackowski, Motional Senior Vice President of Autonomy & AI Phil Michel, and SDF Transformation Center head Alpesh Patel, who will discuss where the technology industry is heading and how the Group plans to turn innovation into practical results, closing with a live audience Q&A.
Hands-On Sessions and an Exhibition Floor
Beyond the keynotes, the Forum runs technical sessions across six areas — AI, robotics, autonomous driving, smart manufacturing, software/IT, and hydrogen, energy and battery technology — giving engineers and attendees a chance to discuss real projects directly.
An accompanying exhibition, organized into three zones called Beyond the Vehicle, Beyond the Road and Beyond the Industry, features 16 hands-on and project-based displays covering the same technology areas, including Hyundai’s MobED platform, Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot, the IONIQ 5 robotaxi, the Hyundai CRATER Concept and the Group’s CODA electrical/electronic architecture.
An informal HR Coffee Chat program also lets attendees talk directly with hiring managers about career openings across the Group.
