Hyundai Motor Group continues its efforts to help the unsung heroes of society through its new social contribution program, i-CARE UP, which supports child protection agency counselors.

On Thursday, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it held the i-CARE UP event for 200 counselors from child protection organizations nationwide at the Restri Lisom Resort (Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do) for two days and three nights from Monday, September 9 to Wednesday, November 11.

The ‘i-CARE UP’ event was designed to help counselors gain pride in their work and strengthen their professional skills in the face of rising job fatigue and turnover among counselors at specialized child protection organizations.

The event invited outstanding counselors from child protection agencies across the country, and Hyundai Motor Group provided programs to relieve stress and strengthen their capabilities for two days and three nights.

Hyundai Motor Group held various healing programs such as color art therapy, talk concerts, and DIY experiences to help counselors manage stress, as they are exposed to frequent verbal abuse and violence while dealing directly with victims and perpetrators of abuse.

In addition, the event also provided opportunities for counselors to promote work exchanges and enhance their professionalism through presentations and awards for excellent case management, empathy and communication exercises, and special lectures by speakers.

In particular, on the last day of the event, Dr. Eun-Young Oh, a family counseling expert, was invited to speak on the topic of ‘How to create a happy family for everyone’ to listen to the concerns of child protection agency counselors and share know-how that can be applied in the workplace.

Starting with this event, Hyundai Motor Group plans to organize ‘I Care Up’ every year in the future.

Hyundai Motor Group, which has been conducting the ‘i-CARE’ program to prevent child abuse since 2014, followed by the ‘i-CARE Car,’ a vehicle dedicated to providing psychological counseling, has expanded the scale of its support by launching ‘i-CARE Up’ this year to help counselors of specialized child protection organizations heal and strengthen their capabilities.

In the future, Hyundai plans to continue its efforts to build a comprehensive child protection support system by operating the ‘iCare Home’ project, which supports the remodeling of shelters for abused children.

“We organized this event to cheer and support our counselors, who play the most important role in the field to protect abused children,” said a Hyundai Motor Group representative. ”We plan to continue to discover and support not only counselors but also the unsung heroes of our society who are dedicated to protecting the safety of everyday people.”

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group established its CSR mission, “We move right for individuals who move freely, society that lives safely, and a healthy planet,” at the end of last year.

Based on this, Hyundai Motor Group has newly selected Free Move, Safe Move, and Sustainable Move as its three CSR focus areas.

As part of the ‘Safety’ area, since March, we have been supporting medical wearable robots to help injured soldiers rehabilitate, and in June, we donated a hydrogen-electric bus to help firefighters recover, and have continued to support public service workers, who are ordinary heroes who dedicate themselves to protecting everyday safety.
