GV60 Magma Arrives in California, New York and New Jersey First

Genesis has set U.S. pricing for the 2027 GV60 Magma at $69,950, marking the brand’s first dedicated high-performance model.

Genesis Motor North America COO Tedros Mengiste framed the launch as a deliberate shift for the brand, pairing its “Athletic Elegance” design language with a driving experience built to be more emotional and engaged than anything Genesis has offered before.

A Wider, More Aggressive Stance

The Magma treatment reshapes the standard GV60 with a wider, lower body and a set of aero-focused additions: front canards, fender garnishes and breathers, and a winglet-style rear spoiler.

Exclusive 21-inch forged wheels and wider tires back up the visual changes with added grip and stability. Under the skin, an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive system pushes output past 600 horsepower, and Boost Mode briefly raises that to 641 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque.

Software Built to Mimic a Combustion Feel

Genesis leaned into simulated performance cues for the Magma’s driver-engagement features. Virtual Gear Shift replicates the sensation of running through gears using synthetic RPM behavior and matched sound and visual feedback, while e-Active Sound Design Plus pipes in engine-like audio through exterior speakers, with a sound profile drawn from Goodwood Festival recordings.

Drive modes round out the package: GT Mode tunes the car for comfortable high-speed cruising, SPRINT Mode sharpens handling and power delivery, Launch Control optimizes off-the-line grip, and Drift Mode gives the GV60 Magma a controlled, beginner-friendly way to slide — one that layers in the virtual gear and sound systems for added drama.

Interior Built Around the Driver

Genesis fitted the Magma with its first-ever performance bucket seats, trimmed in suede-wrapped Obsidian Black with contrasting Magma Orange stitching.

The steering wheel adds dedicated buttons for Boost and Magma drive modes, and the car ships with Magma-specific alloy pedals and a performance-oriented gauge cluster and infotainment layout. Buyers can choose from four exterior colors, including the brand’s signature Magma Orange alongside Uyuni White, Vik Black and Makalu Gray Matte.

Rollout and What’s Standard

The GV60 Magma is set to reach select Genesis retailers in California, New York and New Jersey in the coming weeks, with interested buyers directed to their local retailer or genesis.com for details.
