Genesis Magma Racing has confirmed all six drivers for its 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign, keeping the same lineup for the team’s second season in the series.
The team says the decision lets it build on what it learned while developing and debuting the GMR-001 Hypercar.
Continuity As a Foundation
Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul said continuity matters at this stage of the program. The drivers have gained detailed knowledge of the GMR-001 and strong working relationships with the technical staff, and they share a positive dynamic that makes working together enjoyable. Keeping the group, he said, lets the team carry that experience into 2027, develop the car efficiently and move closer to scoring points with both cars at every race.
A Debut Season of Early Milestones
The team was competitive from the opening round at Imola. Its #17 car scored the program’s first championship points in only its second race, at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and later finished seventh at Lone Star Le Mans, the brand’s best result to date.
Genesis Magma Racing also completed its first attempt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of its main objectives. The #19 car ran inside the top five for much of the 6 Hours of Fuji, and the #17 car took the team’s first WEC pole position at the 6 Hours of Barcelona, seven races into its debut season.
Sporting Director Sees a Close Group
Sporting Director Gabriele Tarquini said the drivers understand the car, the team’s working methods and what needs to improve, and that they work well with the entire team. He called the Barcelona pole an important milestone that showed how far the group has come. He added that the team believes this group has the experience and potential to go further and to fight regularly for points in 2027.
Lineups to Be Confirmed
The exact driver pairings for the two cars will be announced before the first race of 2027.
