Toyota is marking 60 years of the Corolla, a nameplate that has sold more than 57 million vehicles worldwide and holds the title of the world’s best-selling car, with special edition versions of its European-built Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan models.
Toyota traces the car’s staying power back to the principles behind the original 1966 model — a high-quality, versatile car offered at an affordable price — which the company says still hold across 12 generations and manufacturing in 12 locations serving 150 countries and regions.
Europe has been a core market since Corolla’s 1967 arrival, building a reputation for quality, durability and reliability, and the model has also anchored Toyota’s European manufacturing since production began with the seventh generation at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey in 1994, later expanding to Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in 1998.
Distinct Styling for the Anniversary Trim
The 60th Anniversary Hatchback and Touring Sports stand out through an exclusive New Boreal Blue metallic paint finished in bi-tone with a contrasting Night Sky Black roof and pillars, paired with new 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels in a matte, machined finish and chromed black wheel nuts.
Matte silver garnishes on the lower front bumper and side sills, dark-plated fog light surrounds, and rear door and bumper corner trim add further sporty detailing, with the Touring Sports adding an extra matte silver accent on the lower rear bumper; both models finish with matte silver 60th Anniversary decals along the lower rear doors. Inside, matte silver scuff plates carry the 60th Anniversary logo, paired with black textile carpet mats featuring matching silver inserts.
The Corolla Sedan gets its own Lunar Sky Blue paint option and shares most of the same special details — badging, 17-inch wheels, scuff plates and mats — while adding a matte silver highlight strip along the base of the boot lid. Buyers can also choose Platinum White Pearl or Ash Grey metallic as alternative finishes across the anniversary range.
Hybrid Power and Standard Tech
Every Corolla in the range runs Toyota‘s fifth-generation hybrid system. Hatchback and Touring Sports buyers can choose between a 1.8-liter setup making 140 DIN hp or a sportier 2.0-liter version producing up to 178 DIN hp, while the Sedan sticks exclusively with the 1.8-liter system.
Standard equipment includes a fully digital 12.3-inch driver display and Toyota’s Smart Connect+ multimedia system with a 10.5-inch touchscreen, cloud-based navigation with live traffic data, and embedded route planning.
A full suite of Toyota T-Mate active safety and driver assistance features also comes standard, including Toyota Safety Sense functions like Pre-Collision System with Intersection Collision Avoidance, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Trace Assist, Emergency Steering Assist and Road Sign Assist, with new and updated functions delivered through over-the-air updates.
The 60th Anniversary Corolla models are available to order now, with deliveries beginning at the end of October.
