The alliance will initially focus on establishing the groundwork for commercial production and advancing manufacturing excellence, with particular emphasis on further improving productivity, quality, and cost.

Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, stated that since its founding, Toyota has been guided by the philosophy of providing mobility for all, continually expanding what mobility can mean. He described air mobility as a natural extension of that philosophy—from the ground into the sky—and a way to bring new value to people’s lives and society. He called it meaningful to take on this challenge together with Joby, a partner sharing the same vision, and viewed the strengthened relationship as an important step toward realising the future mobility society.
