Volvo Cars has started delivering the first EX60 units to customers in Europe this week, with early buyers in Sweden already behind the wheel and many more deliveries expected in the coming weeks and months.
Unveiled to strong reception back in January, the EX60 is positioned as a genuine turning point for Volvo — offering a class-leading range of up to 810km, charging from 10-80% in as little as 16 minutes, and priced in line with the company’s best-selling XC60 plug-in hybrid.
The five-seat SUV marks Volvo’s first entry into the world’s largest electric vehicle segment, giving the brand a meaningful shot at expanding its customer base and EV market share, while its advanced core computing platform pushes safety and user experience further than previous Volvo models.
Production and deliveries will ramp up through the second half of 2026. Order books remain open across Europe and have now opened in the United States as well.
Erik Severinson, chief commercial officer at Volvo Cars, called this a huge moment for the company and its customers, noting that after thousands of hours developing one of the most advanced cars on the market, watching the first customers take delivery felt especially significant. He thanked early buyers and said he’s looking forward to many more joining them in the months and years ahead.
A Range That Beats Its Rivals
The EX60 can travel up to 810 kilometres on a single charge in its all-wheel drive configuration — not just the longest range of any Volvo EV to date, but enough to outdo recently revealed competitors and set a new benchmark for the segment.
Charging speed matches that ambition: using a 400kW fast charger, the EX60 can add up to 340km of range in just ten minutes, roughly the length of a quick coffee stop. Volvo frames this combination as turning “range anxiety” into “range comfort,” arguing that design, engineering, hardware and software have come together to make going electric feel like less of a compromise against petrol cars.
The EX60 comes in three powertrain variants. The P12 AWD Electric delivers the top-tier 810km range, the P10 AWD Electric offers up to 660km, and the rear-wheel drive P6 Electric provides up to 611km. Across all versions, the car is available in seven total variants to suit different needs.

Beyond the numbers, the EX60 represents something of a milestone for Volvo itself: it’s the company’s first fully electric car designed, developed and built in Sweden.
Underpinning it is SPA3, an entirely new scalable architecture that introduces manufacturing technologies new to Volvo, including mega casting and cell-to-body battery integration.
