Renault has unveiled the Rafale hypnotic, a limited-run version of its flagship model built in just 1,500 numbered units for Europe.
Based on the top-spec Rafale hyper hybrid E-Tech 4×4 300hp Atelier Alpine, the hypnotic edition pushes that car’s design further with a satin-finish forest black exterior, gloss black detailing, a darkened front end and black grille, 21-inch satin-finish alloy wheels, a gloss black roof and boot spoiler, and a black Atelier Alpine badge.
Renault frames the “hypnotic” name as a reference to the car’s intended visual pull — a deliberately dark, commanding presence meant to stand out even within Renault’s premium lineup.
A Cabin Built for the Edition
Inside, the hypnotic gets its own material treatment: titanium black Alcantara paired with black textured coated fabric, tricolor blue-white-red stitching, a backlit Alpine “A” logo, an individually numbered plate, gloss black door panel inserts, a titanium black Alcantara dash trim strip, and black door compartments and carpeting throughout.
Standard equipment steps up accordingly, adding a Solarbay opacifying glass roof, a heated windscreen, a head-up display and a Harman Kardon premium sound system as part of the base package rather than as extras.
Unchanged Performance Underneath
Mechanically, the hypnotic carries over the plug-in hybrid setup from its Atelier Alpine donor car, combining a combustion engine with three electric motors for a combined 300 hp and up to 105 km of all-electric range.
The Alpine Cars-tuned chassis pairs four-wheel drive with “4Control Advanced” four-wheel steering and camera-based predictive smart suspension, a combination Renault describes as unique among full-line automakers for balancing power and agility with everyday comfort.
Availability and Pricing
Orders for the Rafale hypnotic open October 1, 2026 across 14 European markets — France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Greece — with first deliveries expected in late 2026 and the 1,500-unit run split across those countries by allocation.
In France, pricing starts at €63,550, or as a long-term lease at €560 per month following an initial payment of €5,500 over a 37-month, 30,000km contract.
That places the hypnotic above the rest of the French Rafale lineup, which spans from €46,750 for the base techno full hybrid trim up to €60,250 for the Atelier Alpine hyper hybrid 4×4 that the hypnotic is built from — with the new edition bundling in as standard several features, including 4Control Advanced steering, comfort and safety packages, and premium audio, that remain optional extras on lower trims.
The Rafale hypnotic will be on display at the Renault stand in Hall 6 of the 2026 Paris Motor Show, running October 12-18 at Porte de Versailles.
