Geely Auto Group has introduced Geely Smart Charging, an AI-powered charging system built to deliver faster charging speeds while reducing heat buildup, improving safety and protecting long-term battery health.
At the center of the system is Xingrui PowerMind, a smart energy AI model developed jointly with StepFun that coordinates the vehicle, battery, charging station, cloud, grid and energy storage system together rather than treating charging as simple one-way power delivery.
The technology launches alongside Geely’s fifth-generation Smart Charging Station, capable of peak charging power up to 2,250 kW, and a new Next-Gen Ultra Short Blade Battery.
Predicting Heat Before It Builds Up
Rather than reacting once temperatures climb, Geely’s system uses algorithms to predict battery temperature up to 30 seconds ahead and adjusts charging power dynamically in response, aiming to keep average charging temperature under 55°C and peak temperature below 65°C.

That approach is backed by what Geely calls the industry’s first end-to-end five-point liquid cooling system, managing heat across the entire charging chain — from the charging station’s own energy-storage battery through the charging pile, cable and port to the vehicle’s battery pack itself.
Addressing Fast Charging’s Effect on Battery Life
Geely is also targeting a common concern with ultra-fast charging: its long-term toll on battery health. Through PowerMind, the system builds a charging strategy tailored to each individual vehicle and battery, adjusting peak current, cooling intensity and charging duration in real time.

A separate lithium-ion pulse restoration technology uses micro-pulse currents to reactivate lithium ions that accumulate at the negative electrode during repeated fast charging, and Geely says combining that restoration technology with its AI charging management increases battery cycle life by 20%.
For home charging specifically, Geely has also built a low-rate charging strategy meant to gradually reverse degradation from repeated fast charging over a battery’s lifetime.
Hardware to Match the Software
On the hardware side, the fifth-generation Smart Charging Station’s AI fast-charging function aligns charging power with a battery’s real-time condition, while Geely’s Shendun Golden Battery, built specifically for ultra-fast charging and high performance, supports a peak charging rate of 12C.

In real-world testing, the battery used in the Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001 charged from 10% to 70% in 4 minutes 30 seconds and from 10% to 97% in 8 minutes 40 seconds — Geely’s fastest production-ready charging result to date.
The new Next-Gen Ultra Short Blade Battery, aimed more at affordability alongside longevity and safety, uses Geely-developed laser-welding technology for its cell tabs and covers to cut charging heat by 10% while raising its peak charging rate to 6C.
