Twenty years after the Veyron redefined what a road car could do, Bugatti has unveiled the La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years, a one-of-one project built through the marque’s dedicated certification and restoration division.
Established at Rétromobile in Paris in 2020, La Maison Pur Sang gives Veyron owners two broad paths: meticulous maintenance, certification and restoration aimed at preserving a car’s exact original condition, or a more expressive route offering bespoke exterior and interior configurations shaped around the owner’s own vision — both grounded in the authenticity and historical expertise of Bugatti’s specialists.
This particular car, developed jointly with its owner, represents the most complete expression of that philosophy to date.
New Colors and a Modernized Stance
The car wears two shades never before applied to a Veyron — the Tourbillon’s newly developed Rouge Rembrandt and the Chiron’s Petrol Blue — paired with a Magnolia interior, giving the Veyron a fresh look while keeping its signature proportions and silhouette intact.
The most visible change is an entirely new wheel design that, for the first time, lets a Veyron run tires sized for the Chiron.
Bugatti reworked its Machiavelli wheel into a larger format — 20 inches up front and 21 inches at the rear — giving the car a more modern stance while staying visually tied to the Veyron’s original design language. New three-dimensional mesh elements on the front, side and rear air intakes add a subtler, more contemporary technical look.
Craftsmanship Details Inside
Inside, hand-applied Mocassin stitching, developed specifically for this project, decorates the steering wheel and gear selector, while a dedicated “20 years of Veyron” emblem sits between the seats to mark the anniversary.
The center console features a Côte de Genève finish borrowed from fine watchmaking — a decorative technique traditionally reserved for watch movements — applied here to a much larger, three-dimensional automotive surface, which Bugatti describes as a genuine technical achievement in translating horological craft into a new context.
What Bugatti’s Team Says About the Project
Bugatti Director of Design Frank Heyl said any changes to a car as significant as the Veyron have to start from a place of respect, framing La Maison Pur Sang as a way to preserve each Bugatti’s essence while still giving owners room for personal expression, with this particular car pushing that opportunity further into fully tailor-made territory.
Director of After Sales and Customer Service Alexis Ploix credited the project to the craftsmanship of Bugatti’s artisans in Molsheim, pointing to details like the new wheels, tire technology, interior refinements and meticulous maintenance work as the combined effort behind preserving the Veyron’s performance and character.
Heritage and Certification specialist Luigi Galli described La Maison Pur Sang’s broader mission as protecting the authenticity, provenance and long-term value of Bugattis entrusted to the division, positioning the Veyron as a car that continues evolving in the hands of specialists with the same passion that originally created it.
A New Way for Owners to Get Involved
Bugatti unveiled the car at Pebble Beach alongside the launch of a new Veyron configurator, giving customers access to select features and opening the door for other owners to begin their own La Maison Pur Sang projects.
