Genesis has opened Genesis of San Bruno, a new standalone dealership serving the San Francisco Peninsula and bringing the brand’s total standalone U.S. retail network to 85 locations.
Tedros Mengiste, Chief Operating Officer of Genesis Motor North America, tied the opening to the brand’s “Son-nim” hospitality philosophy — treating every customer as an honored guest — and pointed to Northern California’s design-conscious customer base as a key reason for expanding the brand’s presence in the region.
A Familiar Retail Partner
The new dealership is owned and operated by Cardinale Automotive Group, a longtime Genesis retail partner that also runs Genesis of Corona and Genesis of Mountain View.
Cardinale Dealer Principal Christian Pullara described the opening as both an expansion of the group’s Genesis portfolio and a continued investment in the Bay Area, saying the standalone format lets the team deliver the personalized service Genesis customers expect, building on the results already seen at its other two California locations.
Community Grants Mark the Opening
Genesis paired the launch with local giving: the Genesis Inspiration Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to the Peninsula Girls Chorus, while Genesis Motor America gave $10,000 to San Bruno AYSO Region 249 through its Genesis Gives corporate social responsibility program.
Genesis Gives has contributed more than $3 million to U.S. nonprofits since 2022, while the Genesis Inspiration Foundation continues to fund arts education access for students nationwide.
