
Genesis is positioning the all-electric GV60 Magma as the start of a “Luxury High Performance” direction for the brand, built around powertrain upgrades, reworked chassis hardware and a more immersive driving experience layered onto the brand’s “Athletic Elegance” design language.
Upgraded electric motors spin past 20,000 rpm to deliver 790 Nm of torque and 650 PS, enough for a 3.4-second 0-100 km/h time, a 10.9-second 0-200 km/h time and a 264 km/h top speed. A new e-ASD+ sound system pairs with the car’s Virtual Gear Shift function to deliver either a futuristic EV soundscape or an engine-inspired soundtrack tied directly to the car’s dynamics.
Manfred Harrer, President and Head of Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D Division, framed performance as more than raw acceleration or top speed, arguing that real performance comes down to how controllable and precise a powerful car feels to drive.
Torque Vectoring Built for Confidence
A torque vectoring system sits at the center of the GV60 Magma’s handling, working through dual electric motors, an electronic limited-slip differential, stability control and a purpose-built braking system to keep the car predictable even at its limits.

Depending on drive mode and conditions, up to 65% of available torque can shift to either axle to reduce understeer or oversteer, while the rear e-LSD manages grip between inner and outer wheels through a corner and a brake-based vectoring system keeps the car tracking the driver’s steering input during sharp turns.
The same e-LSD also enables a new Drift Mode, using dedicated torque vectoring logic and a unique acceleration map to generate sustained, natural oversteer that’s easier for the driver to hold.
A Reworked Suspension for Sharper Grip
Genesis redesigned much of the GV60 Magma’s suspension hardware — including the lower arms, hub carriers and link structures — to improve agility and precision.
The roll center drops significantly compared with the standard GV60, from 122.3mm to 41.6mm up front and from 169.6mm to 80.1mm at the rear, while a 16mm increase in caster angle and 2mm longer control arms sharpen steering feel and straight-line stability; together, these changes raise vertical tire load by 10% and cornering force by more than 18%.

A new End-of-Travel system detects body roll and adjusts damping instantly for better cornering stability, front-axle Hydro G-bushings sharpen steering response, and dual-layer rear bushings separate control of vertical and longitudinal vibration. The car rides on ultra-wide 275-section fifth-generation Pirelli P-Zero tires mounted on lightweight forged 21-inch wheels that cut unsprung mass, paired with stronger hub carriers and a wider overall track.
Additional structural reinforcement — 0.65 meters more structural adhesive, 20 extra welding points and L-brackets integrated into the wheel housings — boosts torsional rigidity by 9.7%.
Braking Built to Match the Power
GV60 Magma‘s braking system combines optimized regenerative control with 400mm disc brakes, monoblock calipers and a high-performance ABS setup to bring the car to a stop from 100 km/h in 33.8 meters, drawing heavily on regenerative braking from both axles even during hard stops or ABS activation to help resist brake fade.

Drivers can choose between a smoother, more linear Comfort Mode for everyday driving or a Sport Mode that sharpens pedal response and increases hydraulic control, boosting high-speed braking power by roughly 15%.
Harrer said the engineering team accomplished something remarkable in a short timeframe, building a car that’s fast but still unmistakably Genesis — one meant to inspire confidence and create a genuine emotional connection with the driver.
