A Swiss customer already owns three all-electric sports sedans from Zuffenhausen, so when Porsche unveiled the Taycan Turbo GT as its new flagship, he knew instantly it would be his next car — and not in a standard spec.
Working with Porsche Centre Lugano and the Sonderwunsch personalization team, he’s turned the most powerful Taycan ever built into something that pushes BEV individualization into new territory.
Alexander Fabig, Vice President Product and Individualisation Offering at Porsche, said the Sonderwunsch programme has long served as the spearhead of the company’s customization efforts, but customizing a Taycan this extensively — with a request list totaling around 30 items, more than half of them entirely new developments implemented here for the first time — was new ground even for Porsche.
The customer arrived with a clear concept and a design rendering already in hand, drawing inspiration from the way light shifts over Lake Lugano, glowing orange and gold at sunrise and sunset. From there, three in-person meetings at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen headquarters and extensive back-and-forth with the Sonderwunsch team shaped a car that blends sporty dynamism with a more classical elegance.
Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Schweiz AG, said Sonderwunsch, much like Switzerland itself, represents individuality, quality and genuine craftsmanship, and called this Taycan Turbo GT a strong demonstration of how personal creativity can give a vehicle real character.
A Gold Paint With Deep Porsche Roots
The exterior starts with Nordicgoldmetallic, a Paint to Sample color pulling warm yellow-orange-red tones reminiscent of pure gold — a callback to the Metallic Gold shade Porsche first used on the 911 and 914 in the early 1970s, before it resurfaced in the late 2000s on the 997-generation 911, 987-generation Boxster and Cayman, and the Cayenne GTS.
Contrast comes through carefully placed details: a Turbonite Porsche crest on the front luggage lid, high-gloss black on the mirror housings, B-pillars and Gurney flap, and satin Neodyme trim on the front end and side skirts, echoed on the outer rim of the 21-inch Turbo GT forged wheels. The wheels themselves are finished in Satin Black with black valve caps and balance weights, plus centre caps carrying the Turbonite Porsche crest.
Pepita Fabric and Neodyme Accents Inside
The interior follows its own tightly considered scheme. The seats stand out immediately, with Pepita-pattern fabric centres in Black/Slate Grey framed by Pebble Grey leather and black Race-Tex on the bolsters and headrests.
Crayon-colored decorative stitching, piping, and embroidered “turbo GT” lettering in Mojave Beige add further detail, while the dashboard and door panels repeat the Pebble Grey and Black combination with matching stitching. Even the storage compartment lid gets attention, embossed with a Sonderwunsch logo in the leather.
Neodyme paint carries through numerous interior touches — the gear lever, air vents, cupholder surrounds and door handles, with the cupholder trim also carrying a Sonderwunsch badge. The GT sports steering wheel features a Race-Tex rim, a Mojave Beige 12 o’clock marker, a leather-wrapped airbag module ringed in Neodyme, and carbon-fibre trim on the centre spokes with visible screws.
Smaller details round things out: the Sport Chrono clock’s housing and inner ring match the exterior gold, the door sills carry orange backlit “turbo GT” lettering, and the package includes Atacama Beige seat belts, bespoke floormats, a handcrafted documentation folder, and a body-colored key with matching case.
The Taycan Turbo GT Underneath It All
Beyond the customization, the Taycan Turbo GT itself remains Porsche’s most powerful production model, capable of a short-term peak output of up to 815 kW (1,108 PS) via a silicon-carbide pulse inverter on the rear axle.
Intelligent lightweight construction — including several carbon-fibre components — shaves up to 75 kilograms off the car compared with the Taycan Turbo S, while the standard Porsche Active Ride suspension, tuned specifically for the GT, keeps wheel loads balanced for a planted feel during hard driving.
