Among the rules that will be imposed by the future Euro 7 standard, is a new homologation protocol — called GTR21 — for the combined power of the combustion engine and electric motor(s) in plug‑in hybrid models.
PEUGEOT is applying this new protocol as of today. This results in a change in the officially certified power of some of its current plug‑in hybrid models.
These models do not undergo any technical modification, meaning their performance, fuel consumption, and emissions remain unchanged.
The approved combined power output of the PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008 plug‑in hybrids is now 225 hp (166 kW). The new commercial names for these models are:
- PEUGEOT 3008 PLUG-IN HYBRID 225 AUTO
- PEUGEOT 5008 PLUG-IN HYBRID 225 AUTO
The approved combined power output of the PEUGEOT 408 plug‑in hybrid is now 240 hp (177 kW). The new commercial name for this model is:
- PEUGEOT 408 PLUG-IN HYBRID 240 AUTO
The new homologated combined power protocol has already been applied to the new PEUGEOT 308 Plug-in Hybrid 195 hp Automatic.
The new protocol has no impact on the cost of the vehicle registration certificate (carte grise), as this cost is calculated based solely on the power of the combustion engine, which remains unchanged.
