Reveal of the new PEUGEOT E-208 GTi, Alain Favey announced best-in-class performance figures and order opening as part of the PEUGEOT Press Conference at Le Mans.
Engineered by PEUGEOT SPORT, the new PEUGEOT E-208 GTi delivers exceptional driving sensations and best performance in its segment, including 0 to 100 km/h of just 5.5 seconds, thanks to a 281 hp electric motor.
The PEUGEOT E-208 GTi offers competitive combined WLTP range of up to 375 km. PEUGEOT announced order opening starting from €42,900 including taxes for the French market. Designed by PEUGEOT Design, it expresses PEUGEOT’s French charisma and iconic GTi style, combining sportiness and elegance.
PEUGEOT celebrates 100 years since its first time racing at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the occasion by announcing order opening and price point of the electric hot hatch. The new PEUGEOT E-208 GTi is the very first 100% electric GTi, continuing the GTi legend launched four decades ago with the iconic 205 GTi.
PEUGEOT Sport Engineering Expertise
PEUGEOT entrusted technical development of the E-208 GTi to PEUGEOT Sport, its motorsport division based in Satory near Paris, responsible for its WEC programme with PEUGEOT 9X8. The engineers who develop PEUGEOT’s Hypercars were tasked with building on success of the E-208 with this performance-focused version.

Christophe Auriault, PEUGEOT E-208 GTi Project Manager at PEUGEOT Sport, stated that from the very beginning, it was obvious PEUGEOT SPORT should be involved. They have unique experience and expertise in designing this type of car. The goal was to create a 100% electric GTi, proving that all PEUGEOT GTi DNA can be found in an electric car—and they succeeded.
M4+ Motor Delivers Segment-Leading Acceleration
Drawing on unique motorsport experience, PEUGEOT Sport engineers made no compromises on sportiness: the E-208 GTi is the most powerful and best-performing model in the B-segment. The PEUGEOT E-208 GTi is equipped with the M4+ electric motor, developing 281 hp and delivering 345 Nm of torque. It is produced in Trémery, eastern France, a plant now specialized in electric powertrains as part of the E motors joint venture between Stellantis and Nidec Leroy-Somer.
With the best power-to-weight ratio in its segment (5.5 kg/hp), the E-208 GTi delivers 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the initial proposal. This is backed up by a 1000 m standing start in 25.8 s and 3.2 s from 80 to 120 km/h. Top speed is limited to 180 km/h.
Motorsport-Derived Battery Cooling
The E-208 GTi uses the same 54 kWh gross battery (51 kWh useable) as the E-208, but its management has been adapted to meet exceptional demands of the GTi motor. PEUGEOT Sport engineers applied motorsport knowledge in battery thermal management, focused particularly on coolant flow strategy. Perfectly cooled, the battery allows the E-208 GTi to always deliver maximum performance, without power limitation regardless of driving conditions.

Christophe Auriault stated one of their main priorities was performance durability. They did not want to reduce exceptional power to protect the battery from derating, something seen on some electric performance cars. Drawing inspiration from motorsport, they designed battery cooling management that avoids power limitation in demanding conditions.
Depending on choice of high-performance tires, the E-208 GTi offers combined WLTP range up to 375 km with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tires (No Cost Option) and 352 km with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S performance tires (As Standard).
Chassis Modifications for Dynamic Handling
True to PEUGEOT GTi DNA, PEUGEOT Sport engineers combined unique power with agile, dynamic handling. Numerous modifications have been made to an already excellent E-208 chassis. For stability, the body was lowered by 25 mm, tracks widened by 56 mm at front and 28 mm at rear, with 18-inch wheels and 215/40 R18 tires.
For responsiveness, an additional 31 mm rear anti-roll bar was added, retaining the original 17 mm front bar, optimizing balance and cornering behavior. Traction is ensured through a mechanical limited-slip differential integrated into the reduction gearbox. Ride and comfort feature specific springs and exclusive dampers with hydraulic bump stops, technology used by PEUGEOT Sport in WEC.

Safety features 355 mm front brake discs with fixed 4-piston calipers, with red brake calipers bearing the PEUGEOT Sport mark. ESP is configured for everyday safety, with Sport mode allowing greater driver freedom. In Sport mode, regenerative braking is disabled so the driver can focus purely on performance.
Christophe Auriault stated the most important element of chassis transformation lies in front/rear anti-roll balance, especially with addition of the rear anti-roll bar. Their pilots from PEUGEOT 9X8 tested the E-208 GTi on circuit and their feedback was: “Don’t change a thing.”
French Design Heritage
Michaël Trouvé, PEUGEOT E-208 GTi Project Manager at PEUGEOT Design, stated they wanted the E-208 GTi to be immediately recognizable as a PEUGEOT GTi, with design that speaks for itself. It had to be worthy of this iconic badge while remaining modern, with strong visual cues that are powerful but not ostentatious.
The E-208 GTi features the three-claw lighting signature. At the front, illuminated claws are integrated into the bumper and extended into full LED headlamps. At the rear, three horizontal LED claws reinforce the car’s stance. The 18-inch perforated wheels reference the iconic “holed” wheels of the PEUGEOT 205 GTi while improving brake cooling.

GTi red is present throughout but always with restraint: grille, headlights, PEUGEOT front emblem, wheel arches, front brake calipers, “208 GTi” C-pillar badges, rear spoiler, and throughout the interior. Seven body colors are available, several referencing the PEUGEOT 205 GTi: Okénite White, Elixir Red, Miramar Blue (new color), Perla Nera Black, Artense Grey, Selenium Grey, and Agueda Yellow.
GTi-Cockpit Interior
The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit heightens exceptional driving sensations, creating a true GTi-Cockpit. Red carpets, floor mats, and seatbelts—as on the 205 GTi—immediately create a sporty atmosphere. Red stitching features on the dashboard, door panels, and compact steering wheel. Front seats pay tribute to the 205 GTi 1.9, with central red insert and red mesh detail evocative of the 205 GTi 1.6.

The compact steering wheel features perforated leather with Alcantara top and bottom and red “208 GTi” emblem, with steering calibrated for more direct, dynamic response. The interface features red-themed digital displays as standard, GTi-specific performance pages, red ambient lighting, and selectable sound ambience linked to motor speed.
Peugeot E-208 GTi , Charging Ecosystem and Warranty
The E-208 GTi offers fast charging: 4h40 on a 7.4 kW Wallbox and 20-80% in under 30 minutes on a 100 kW DC charger, with AC 80% charge limit function for everyday use. Services include connected route planner, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) to power external devices, and MyPEUGEOT app for remote pre-conditioning and charging schedules.

As with all 100% electric PEUGEOT models, the E-208 GTi benefits from up to 8-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty via PEUGEOT Care, up to 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty, and Free2Move Charge Pass giving access to nearly one million charging points across Europe.
