Xiaomi Auto used its Fall Flagship Launch Event to introduce the SkyNomad Series, a four-model SUV family built on the Xiaomi Kunlun Platform and priced from RMB 209,900 to RMB 299,900.
The lineup splits into distinct roles: the five-seat N70 Pro and all-wheel-drive N70 Max target the extended-range SUV segment as entry and benchmark models respectively; the seven-seat N90 Max positions itself as a flagship for both business and family use; and the N90 Max Studio pushes furthest into lifestyle territory, adding a two-level loft layout, a second row that folds into a bed in 30 seconds, floor heating and an electric lifting cabin roof.
All four share Xiaomi’s Kunlun technical architecture while answering different ideas of what an SUV should do.
N70: Boxy Proportions and a Home-Inspired Cabin
The N70 measures 4,960mm long, 1,998mm wide, with a 2,950mm wheelbase, following classic luxury SUV proportions — short front overhang, long rear overhang — with rounded edges and a boxy silhouette meant to maximize interior volume.
Dragonfly-style headlights offer a 624-meter high-beam range and 180-degree low-beam coverage, paired with halo-shaped taillights. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors (Valley Blue, Mountain Green, Pearl White, Volcanic Gray, Obsidian Black and Light Khaki) and three interior colorways.
Inside, Xiaomi borrowed cues from home furnishings, including a cabinet-style, sliding center console with up to 33 storage compartments, a 1,530mm-wide dashboard display, and 6.14 square meters of glass area for an open, transparent cabin feel, complemented by 256-color ambient lighting.
Ninety-five percent of high-touch surfaces are soft-wrapped, the interior carries OEKO-TEX certification for direct skin contact including infants under three, and the front seats use 15-layer stacked construction alongside a heat-pump climate system with independent second-row vents.
A Flat Floor Built for Flexible Space
Central to the N70’s design is a completely flat floor with extra-long sliding rails, avoiding the stepped floor typical of mid-to-large SUVs. The floor runs at only a 2.95-degree incline across 4.01 square meters, and the longest of five sliding rails stretches 1.56 meters, letting the second row slide up to 600mm.
In standard position, second-row legroom measures 1,010mm with 1,021mm of headroom; pushed rearward, legroom reaches 1,410mm — Xiaomi claims 50% more than comparable vehicles. Trunk space runs 1,203 liters standard and 2,425 liters with the second row folded, with nearly 90-degree rear doors and a low 385mm sill for easier loading.
Xiaomi built several one-touch configurations around this flexibility — rotating front seats for face-to-face seating with a sliding table, an expanded family zone with seats slid back, and a “first-class” mode using the full 1,410mm of legroom — while lounge-style front seats add 16-point massage, ventilation and heating as standard, with a 9-liter onboard fridge and a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen also available.
The N70 Pro ships with a 14-speaker sound system, while the N70 Max upgrades to Xiaomi’s self-developed Astral Sound System, a 25-speaker, 7.1.4 setup with 4,890W of peak power and 7 titanium-dome tweeters.
Range, Handling and Powertrain
The N70 runs on Xiaomi’s Kunlun HyperRange extended-range architecture. The N70 Pro pairs a 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with front-wheel drive, delivering 351km of pure-electric range (CLTC) and 1,351km combined, with a 7.9-second 0-100 km/h time and depleted-battery consumption of 5.7L/100km.
The N70 Max steps up to dual-motor all-wheel drive and a 76 kWh battery, reaching 505km of electric range and 1,461km combined, a 5.5-second 0-100 km/h time, 18-minute 20-80% charging, and depleted-battery consumption of 6.1L/100km, with a claimed 99% first-attempt public charger compatibility rate.
Both use front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension, with the N70 Max adding five-level adjustable air suspension and continuously variable damping. The N70 turns with a 5.67-meter radius and stops from 100 km/h in 38.25 meters.
Chips, Software and Safety
Every N70 runs Xiaomi’s Super EEA domain control architecture built on a 4nm third-generation Snapdragon 8 platform, with the NVIDIA Thor-U chip standard across the lineup for 700 TOPS of assisted-driving compute. A Flyback low-voltage power system cuts standby energy use by 60% when features like the fridge or sentry mode run with the car off, and eFuse-based power distribution cuts fault response time from over 10ms to under 100 microseconds.
Cabin displays span an 8.88-inch instrument cluster, 16.1-inch center screen and optional 21.4-inch rear screen, with a passenger-seatback tablet mount and Xiaomi’s upgraded XiaoAi voice assistant covering 95% of vehicle functions, including switching between more than ten cabin layout modes via natural-language commands.
Standard hardware includes LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radar alongside the Thor-U chip, and safety equipment includes 9 airbags, 9 collision sensors, and a body built from up to 91.3% high-strength steel and aluminum, including 2,200 MPa steel at 14 points and an embedded roll cage for rollover protection, with triple-redundant door releases and a battery designed to resist thermal propagation after a simulated fully charged thermal-runaway event at 55°C.
N90 Max: A Seven-Seat Flagship
The N90 Max scales up to 5,285mm long, 1,998mm wide, with a 3,080mm wheelbase and a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, adding an exclusive Maroon Red exterior color to the N70’s palette.
It supports four-seat zero-gravity seating in the front and second rows, along with optional rotating front seats with a table for use as a mobile office or dining space. With all seven seats occupied, the car still fits seven 20-inch suitcases; second-row legroom reaches 950mm, third-row legroom 890mm with 962mm of headroom, and an 180mm-wide center aisle allows walk-through access to the third row without moving seats.
Powertrain-wise, the N90 Max uses dual-motor all-wheel drive for a 5.9-second 0-100 km/h time and 190 km/h top speed, drawing on a 76 kWh battery for 464km of electric range and 1,705km combined — enough, Xiaomi says, for a Shanghai-to-Beijing trip of over 1,000km without recharging — with depleted-battery consumption as low as 6.26L/100km.
Tech features expand to a 16.1-inch 3K center screen, 20-inch HUD, and up to six connected screens, plus a rear-facing solid-state LiDAR for tighter parking accuracy. Safety hardware includes a 13-piece hot-stamped door ring covering all four pillars and all three rows, 12 airbags, 750mm of wading capability and stability control for tire blowouts at up to 160 km/h.
N90 Max Studio: An SUV Built as a Living Space
The N90 Max Studio takes the N90 Max’s platform and adds a factory-integrated electric lifting roof — rare on domestic SUVs — that raises cabin height by 100mm while keeping the drag coefficient at 0.245.
Raised, the roof creates a two-level loft space up to 2,294mm tall, letting someone up to 1.8 meters stand upright in the rear, with an upper sleeping area measuring 2,110 by 985mm and a maximum bed length of 1,946mm, rated to hold 200 kg on an aluminum honeycomb frame; mesh screens on three sides and a fully openable front screen add roughly 1.7 square meters of viewing area.
The redesigned second row folds into a flat 1.87 by 1.24-meter bed in 30 seconds without disassembly, with seat ventilation, heating and auto-stowing headrests, and a 40/60 split lets one side convert to a bed while the other keeps a table for work or dining.
The cabin also adds a wood-grain aluminum floor rated for over 6,000 abrasion cycles with integrated floor heating up to 38°C, a 30-inch projection screen with a privacy mode, a floating nightstand with dual power outlets, a lit storage cabinet, and an 11.5-inch lighted vanity mirror.
Mechanically, the Studio matches the N90 Max’s dual-motor setup and 5.9-second 0-100 km/h time, with a slightly different range rating of 462km electric and 1,688km combined from the same 76 kWh battery.
Across the lineup, Xiaomi is framing SkyNomad less as a spec-sheet exercise and more as an attempt to solve space, range, safety and onboard intelligence together — treating the SUV itself as flexible living space rather than just a means of transport.
