GMC is marking a quarter-century of the HUMMER nameplate with the HUMMER EV ICON | 25, a limited-run edition drawing on the brand’s history of bold design and cultural presence. The 2027 model reinterprets that legacy for an all-electric era, aimed squarely at a new generation of buyers.
The exterior color, called “ICON,” takes its cue from the HUMMER H2’s recognizable yellow paint, reworked for a modern look. It’s paired with a new Jet Black interior and a black front approach shield that sharpens the truck’s already purpose-built stance. Inside, serialized badging on the instrument panel marks each vehicle as part of the limited run, while unique infotainment graphics in the drive mode section nod to earlier HUMMER models. Every ICON | 25 also comes with an exclusive keepsake tied to the nameplate’s 25th anniversary. The edition will be offered on 2X and 3X trims across both the Pickup and SUV.
Debuting at the ESPYS
The HUMMER EV ICON | 25 will make its public debut at the 2026 ESPYS in New York City, held Wednesday, July 15 at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater. The timing lines up with GMC’s return as Official Vehicle Sponsor of the ESPYS, an annual ceremony produced by ESPN, Full Day Productions and Fanatics Studios that also raises funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Michael MacPhee, Global Vice President of Buick and GMC, said HUMMER captured attention and became an instant icon 25 years ago, and remains just as recognizable today as an all-electric supertruck. He described the ICON | 25’s ESPYS debut as a way of placing that legacy alongside athletes and entertainers whose influence has similarly stood the test of time.
What’s New Across the 2027 Lineup
Beyond the limited edition, the broader 2027 GMC HUMMER EV lineup gets its own updates.
All Pickup and SUV models now come with a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) inlet, alongside continued support for vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging — letting a properly equipped HUMMER EV help power a home during an outage when paired with GM Energy’s PowerShift Charger and V2H Enablement Kit.
The new model year also adds five exterior colors, including ICON, Dark Ridge, Azurite Blue, Dark Ember and Deep Void Matte, plus two new 22-inch wheel options.
Off-road capability remains central to the HUMMER EV’s identity, with available drive modes, 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk and King Crab, Air Ride Adaptive suspension, and Extract Mode, which can lift the vehicle roughly six inches to clear obstacles. Tech features carry over as well, including available Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance, the signature Infinity Roof with removable Sky Panels, and up to 18 camera views on the Pickup.
At the top of the range, the 2027 HUMMER EV 3X Pickup delivers up to 1,160 horsepower, 13,000 lb.-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time as quick as 2.8 seconds when equipped with the optional 24-module battery.
Production Timeline
Production of the 2027 GMC HUMMER EV and ICON | 25 begins later this year at GM’s Factory ZERO Assembly Center in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan, with sales planned for the U.S. and Canada. Pricing and further details will be announced closer to production.

HUMMER’s arc runs from the H2’s 2002 debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which cemented it as a mainstream icon, through the H3’s 2004 launch, GMC’s 2020 announcement of an all-electric HUMMER return, and the full EV lineup buildout at Factory ZERO between 2021 and 2023.
