
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that its joint venture in China, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN), is launching the N6 plug-in hybrid, a sleek and tech-rich sedan for young families.
The N6 is Nissan’s first PHEV sedan in the market and will be the first model built on the Tianyan Architecture which features Dongfeng Nissan’s new energy vehicle (NEV) technology.
The sedan features an award-winning design, advanced connected tech for all inside and is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine paired with a high-capacity 21.1 kWh LFP battery. The N6 is offered in five grades: 180 Air, 180 Pro, 180 Max, 180 Max+, and the flagship 170 Max+. Pricing ranges from 99.9 to 129.9 thousand RMB.
The N6 is one of many recent products in Nissan’s expanding China lineup aimed at delivering exciting products with speed and innovation to meet the diverse needs of local customers.
An elegant, streamlined design
The N6’s exterior adopts the ‘Wind Trace’ aesthetic philosophy, expressed through its elegant, slipstream profile that rivals C-segment luxury sedans.

Up front, the N6 sports headlights with a thin profile and an adaptive high-beam system to enhance nighttime visibility while the ‘hurricane-eye’ taillights provide striking three-dimensional depth.
The N6 comes in six available colors: Sunlight Gold, Hyacinth Purple, Flowing Silver, Obsidian Black, Rock Grey, and Pearl White.
N6 interior: designed for relaxation
Inside, the N6 has a 360-degree wraparound cabin impression with soft-touch materials used on over 85% of the trim for a welcoming, cozy space.
The front seats feature AI Zero-Pressure Cloud Cushion seats with adaptive posture AI algorithms.
For rear passengers, a newly developed Zero-Pressure Cloud Cushion Sofa makes long journeys an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate. Proprietary Gel Material seats offer a premium leather-like feel.
The N6 comes in two interior color options: Off-White and Elegant Black; both offered in Rose Gold or Night Purple trim options.
Smart features and driver support technology
The Nissan N6 features a fully self-developed Cloud Comfort Cabin powered by Nissan’s infotainment system that uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775 automotive-grade chip and 15.6-inch ultra-clear 2.5K screen interface. The AI voice assistant Xiao Ni uses iFlytek’s Spark and DeepSeek to support a seamless and tailored in-car experience.
The system supports multiple Chinese dialects, voice options and can recognize requests from any seating position. The whisper-quiet cabin makes for a perfect space to practice singing with the wireless karaoke feature.
The N6 is equipped with a customized end-to-end driving assistance system developed in collaboration with Momenta that supports in a variety of conditions such as on highway journeys, city driving, and parking.
Safety, reliability and durability
The N6 features, a monocoque body structure, robust battery structure, seven airbags including side curtain airbags over two meters in length, and 16 active safety assistance features.

Over 7,400 R&D validation tests, 5,500+ prototype quality confirmations, and upwards of 2,000 vehicle quality control inspections were part of the development process to ensure impressive reliability and durability.
In addition, the N6 participated in the Around-China Fuel Consumption Challenge, crossing 30 provinces in 28 days and covering a total distance of 14,000 kilometers. The N6 achieved a fuel efficiency of 2.9L/100 km over the challenge and set a new Guinness World Record.
Nissan N6, Four new standards in efficiency
As a next-generation plug-in hybrid, the N6 represents four new standards in the PHEV segment. The first is achieving an impressive sub-2L/100 km fuel efficiency (in charge-sustaining mode).
The second is an EV maximum driving range of 180 km, made possible by the N6’s 21.1 kWh battery capacity. The third is rapid charging capability, allowing the battery to be charged in under 20 minutes. The fourth is the ability to keep annual running costs within 2,000 RMB.
