Lexus is rolling out its LY 680 luxury yacht to global markets in September 2026. The model went on sale in Japan in 2024, and the finished yacht made its world debut in March 2026.
The LY 680 develops the LY 650, Lexus’ first luxury yacht, with a flybridge about 1,400 mm longer and a swimming platform extended by 700 mm, bringing overall length to roughly 68 feet. Lexus describes the exterior as an expression of its L-finesse design philosophy, with carefully finished onboard spaces and a ride aimed at stable handling, comfort and low noise.
The Road to 360-Degree Mobility
Lexus frames the yacht as one part of a push beyond the road. At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries said Lexus is “not just about creating cars” and described a strategy covering land, sea and air, which he called 360 degrees of mobility.
The marine effort dates to January 2017, when Toyota Marine and Lexus showed the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept as Toyota moved from car company to mobility company. The 65-foot LY 650 followed in 2019, and Akio Toyoda, then Toyota’s president, said at the time that it symbolised Lexus’ ambition to become a luxury lifestyle brand.
“Discover Escapism”
The LY 680 carries the theme “Discover Escapism,” pitching the yacht as a private retreat free of traffic, congestion and prying eyes.
Go Hayashi, Deputy General Manager of the Marine Business Division, said the boat brings Lexus values to the sea and gives families and friends a space to share time, with the global rollout meant to widen the brand’s reach.

Lexus designs the yacht and shapes the overall experience, while production sits with Horizon Group, a leading luxury yacht builder in Asia known for custom-built boats. The build uses yacht production methods adapted from the Toyota Production System.
