The 2027 Honda Civic Sedan and Hatchback are now reaching dealers across the U.S., with a new Sport-L trim due before the end of the year.

It sits between the Civic Sport and the Sport Hybrid and, for the first time on a non-hybrid Civic, offers leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats and dual-zone climate control. Illuminated vanity mirrors, a passenger-side seatback pocket and silver interior trim come with the package.

Most of these items were previously limited to hybrid models, and some only to the Sport Touring Hybrid. Powered by Honda’s 2.0-liter engine with a CVT, the Sport-L is aimed at buyers who want hybrid-level comfort without moving to a hybrid. Luis Guerra, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales at American Honda Motor Co., said the trim makes some of the Civic’s most desirable premium features more accessible.

Pricing and Fuel Economy

The sedan range starts with the LX at $24,995 and the Sport at $26,995, followed by the Sport-L at $28,495, the Sport Hybrid at $29,695 and the Sport Touring Hybrid at $32,695. A $1,295 destination and handling charge applies to all of them. EPA combined ratings are 36 mpg for the LX, 34 mpg for the Sport and Sport-L, and 49 mpg for both hybrids.

On the hatchback, the Sport is $28,195 and the Sport-L $29,695, with the Sport Hybrid at $30,895 and the Sport Touring Hybrid at $33,895. Combined economy is 34 mpg for the two gasoline trims and 47 mpg for the hybrids.

Honda says the average transaction price for a new Civic this year, hybrids included, is below the industry’s average used-vehicle price. The Civic hybrid, named 2025 North American Car of the Year, accounts for more than 30 percent of Civic sales.

S+ Shift Reaches the Civic

The Sport Touring Hybrid adds Honda S+ Shift, a drive mode first seen on the 2026 Honda Prelude.

It simulates a performance transmission with virtual rev-matched downshifts and gear holding, and augments engine sound to strengthen the connection between car and driver.

Safety and Where It’s Built

Every 2027 Civic carries the Honda Sensing suite as standard, including Collision Mitigation Braking System with Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning. All Sport-grade and higher trims add blind spot information with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The Civic Hatchback is built at Honda’s plant in Greensburg, Indiana, while the Sedan comes from Honda of Canada Mfg. in Alliston, Ontario. The hybrid’s two-motor power unit is made at the Honda Ohio Transmission Plant, and its 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder at the Honda Anna Engine Plant.

Honda has sold more than 13 million Civics in the U.S. since the nameplate arrived, and has been the country’s best-selling compact since 1973. The 11th-generation car is also the most popular vehicle among Gen Z, first-time and multicultural buyers.
