At the G‑Class Experience Center in Graz (Austria), Mercedes‑Benz has been offering G‑Class enthusiasts an action-packed programme since 2020. On the ‘G‑Class Experience’, customers from across the world can explore the all-round capabilities of the legendary off-road vehicle at the limit.
Every moment is a new adventure. As a result, demand is exceptionally high and the event is fully booked every year. That’s why Mercedes‑Benz is expanding its G‑Class customer programmes and raising the thrill with several new exciting features and exclusive experiences.
‘G‑Class Expedition Desert Edition’: Chasing new horizons on the Atlas Mountains and majestic dunes in Morocco
With the ‘G‑Class Expedition Desert Edition’, Mercedes‑Benz is offering a customer programme away from the G‑Class Experience Center in Graz for the first time. During the five-day event, a maximum of 20 customers will experience the off-road icon in the spectacular mountain and desert landscape of Morocco. It is adventurous luxury redefined.
The programme starts with an exclusive welcome dinner followed by an overnight stay in a 5-star hotel in Marrakech. The next day, the 811-kilometre off-road adventure begins. The route leads over the imposing Atlas Mountains towards Dades.
It offers incredible landscapes – from picturesque mountain passes that climb to an altitude of 2,800 metres to challenging trails with tough tracks, water crossings and other challenges. This will give drivers and passengers an opportunity to experience the G‑Class in rough nature.
After another night in the hotel, the journey continues across the impressive Anti-Atlas Mountains towards the Merzouga Desert. Along the way, the tour ventures off the beaten path in true 4×4 style with a lunch stop at the famous crater Gara Medouar, where parts of the James Bond movie ‘Spectre’ were filmed.
After more stunning roads and unforgettable views, guests arrive at an exclusive outdoor camp at the foot of the Merzouga Desert. Here, they can experience a stunning sunset on the majestic dunes.
The desert calls on the fourth day. Customers drive in convoy through the breathtaking dunes, where the G‑Class really feels at home and fully demonstrates its off-road performance, including spectacular drifts in the sand. After an eventful day in the desert, the route leads to the airport in Errachidia and a charter flight takes the guests back to Marrakech. This extraordinary desert experience ends with an exclusive dinner.
The vehicle fleet consists of the Mercedes‑Benz models G 450 d, as well as the Mercedes‑AMG G 63.

‘Private Coaching’: the ultimate thrill on the legendary Schöckl mountain test track
In just five years, the G‑Class Experience Center has become a place of pilgrimage for fans of the off-road legend. Last year alone, around 3,000 customers took part in the ‘G‑Class Experience’.
Due to its huge popularity, the one-day programme is now joined by an additional and more exclusive two-day adventure for a maximum of six people. The ‘Private Coaching’ package is also even more challenging. On the first day, guests enjoy the thrills of the ‘G‑Class Experience’ including the factory tour.
On the second day, they learn first-hand the meaning of the ‘Schöckl proved’ quality assurance. For the first time, customers can be the driver rather than the passenger on the legendary Schöckl test track – the challenging 5.6-kilometre course on the 1,445-metre-high Schöckl mountain near Graz.
For over four decades, this is the place where every G‑Class has been tested to prove its off-road capabilities. What the north loop (Nordschleife) on the Nürburgring is for sports cars, the Schöckl is for off-road vehicles. Thrills and goosebumps are guaranteed. The asphalt roads through fields and forests turn to gravel tracks, then disappear almost completely, with gradients of up to 60 percent and inclines of 40 percent
. The G‑Class has to climb over knee-high ledges on one or two wheels, negotiate deep furrows and hollow paths, plus manoeuvre past huge, dense trees and steep precipices. Each new challenge is rewarded with an unforgettable moment.
The new event format can be booked from now until November at a price of 9,950 euros for two people. The price includes two nights’ accommodation with breakfast at the partner hotel in Graz, culinary highlights at the G‑Class Experience Center and a welcome dinner in Graz city centre.
‘G‑Class Experience’: pushing the G‑Class to the limits on- and off-road
The enormously successful one-day experience immerses participants in the world of the G‑Class. The action happens on a unique adventure playground covering 100,000 square metres. A maximum of 24 guests in three small groups can experience the incredible potential of the off-road vehicle icon at four test modules.
There’s the G Rock climbing challenges, sloping roads, natural twists and turns as well as water crossings in the forest. Experienced instructors help each driver to explore the vehicle’s incredible capabilities on different surfaces and gradients.
Customers learn to skilfully handle the three differential locks. And as a passenger negotiating the Iron Schöckl, they finally understand why the G‑Class has a grab handle on the dashboard. In the on-road module, skills are pushed to the limit with extreme braking, evasive manoeuvres and slalom courses.
An exclusive factory tour at Magna Steyr, where every ‘G’ has been built since 1979, offers a glimpse behind the scenes into the development and creation of the G‑Class. The ‘G‑Class Experience’ takes place every year from April to November at a price of 2,490 euros (2,990 euros for two persons).
This year, for the first time, the G‑Class Experience Center can be booked for corporate events. Whether it’s a company anniversary, a team-building exercise or a summer party, the purpose-built G Base offers a unique hospitality area surrounded by an inspiring exhibition about the fascination of the G‑Class.
To make the day extra special, the G-Class Experience team will develop an individual driving programme depending on number and requirements.

Exclusive factory delivery: an unforgettable brand experience in the G-Class Experience Center
Since 2023, Mercedes‑Benz has been offering its customers from Germany and Austria the opportunity to collect their new G‑Class at the birthplace of the off-road legend in Graz. The unique brand experience for up to two people begins with an exclusive dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel in the centre of Graz.
The next morning, a shuttle takes customers to the G‑Class Experience Center. Here, they can experience the various driving stations according to their individual wishes, accompanied by a personal instructor. The programme also includes an exclusive factory tour at Magna Steyr.
The final highlight of the programme is the handover of the new vehicle, which will be unveiled in a glass cube. The exclusive factory delivery can be booked at a price of 2,750 euros or 3,500 euros exclusively through authorised sales partners.
Customers can experience all four G‑Class models at the G‑Class Experience Center. Off-road drives take place with the Mercedes‑Benz G 450 d and G 580 with EQ Technology is available for the on-road experience on the dynamic surface.
