To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the BMW M3 E30, the LEGO Group and BMW Group have deepened their collaboration with a special project.
For the first time in their shared history, the two companies have jointly created a unique LEGO Speed Champions BMW M3 E30 kit featuring a livery co-designed by BMW Group and LEGO Group design teams.
This partnership lifts the companies’ successful relationship to a new level. The distinctive livery honours the car’s legendary heritage and draws inspiration from the BMW M Motorsport division.
Beyond its striking forms and colours, the livery is unique in being applied not only to the scaled-down LEGO replica but also to the actual BMW M3 E30. As a result, the launch of the miniature version will be accompanied by an authentic showcar.
Detailed Design Faithful to the Original
The LEGO Speed Champions BMW M3 stands out for its careful attention to detail, staying true to the original vehicle. Recreated design elements include the BMW kidney grille, the rear spoiler, and the front end with its four round headlights—hallmarks of the first-generation BMW M3.
The set comprises 358 pieces, measuring 17 centimetres long and 7 centimetres wide. Builders can enjoy endless racing fun thanks to functional wheels and a realistic driver minifigure wearing a BMW M T-shirt.
Matching Apparel for Fans
Adding to the excitement, fans worldwide will soon be able to coordinate their outfits with their minifigure. A scaled-up version of the minifigure T-shirt will be available from August 1, 2026, through BMW dealers and on lifestyle.bmw.com. Made from organic cotton, it features a high-quality print on both front and back.

The LEGO Speed Champions BMW M3 E30 is now available for pre-order at LEGO.com and will reach LEGO stores and BMW dealers on August 1, 2026, at €27.99 RRP. It will be sold through BMW dealers in the EU/UK, as well as via lifestyle.bmw.com, LEGO shops, and LEGO.com worldwide.
Marking the M3 E30’s 40th anniversary, the August 1, 2026 product launch will be highlighted by a public presentation in Berlin.
