Mercedes-Benz has opened orders for the C 300 4MATIC electric, the second variant of the all-new electric C-Class and the first of the line with all-wheel drive.
In Germany it starts at €52,900 excluding VAT for business customers and €62,951 including VAT for private buyers, with private leasing from €449 a month. Further rear-wheel-drive models with different battery options will follow.
Range, Charging and Efficiency
WLTP range reaches up to 690 km. An 800-volt system and a new lithium-ion battery with 85 kWh of usable capacity allow up to 290 km of range to be added in ten minutes, with DC charging of up to 320 kW at 800-volt stations. Combined consumption is 17.8 to 14.1 kWh per 100 km.
A new One-Box braking system raises energy recovery to as much as 300 kW and keeps working when ABS is active or the road is icy, so up to 99 percent of braking events never touch the friction brakes.
Performance and Ride
The dual-motor setup produces 310 kW and 800 Nm, enough for 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The electric 4MATIC system engages only when needed, which helps range. Optional AIRMATIC air suspension adapts damping to the road, and optional rear-axle steering tightens the turning circle and adds stability at speed.
Design and Interior
The saloon has a low, flat nose, a taut roofline and a rounded tail that give it a coupé-like profile. The grille can be lit with animations when unlocking, locking or charging, depending on options.
Inside, Mercedes pursues its “Welcome home” theme with new seats offering lumbar support, massage, ventilation and 4D sound, plus a climate system and acoustic insulation aimed at quick comfort. The electric architecture allows a 470-litre boot, a 101-litre frunk and towing of up to 1.8 tonnes.
Screen, Software and Assistance
The 99.3 cm (39.1-inch) MBUX Hyperscreen runs on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) and supports Digital Extras, which owners can add after purchase through the Mercedes-Benz Store or app.
More than 40 entertainment apps are available, along with navigation, charging and GUARD 360° functions. DISTRONIC Distance Assist and MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST are standard.
Optional MB.DRIVE Assist adds Steering Assist (SAE Level 2) and can help with lane changes outside urban areas, while MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 360 brings a 360-degree camera.
