At the heart of the new Audi Q9 is a spacious, exclusive interior conceived as a sanctuary for family, business, and long journeys. Behind electrically powered doors—a first for Audi—the flagship model offers up to seven seats, easy third-row access, and a large illuminated panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency.
The new 4D sound system turns music into an immersive experience. The Q9 launches in around two months.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner stated that with the Q9, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ is increasingly defined by the in-car experience. Cars have long been more than transportation; they are mobile living spaces. Premium materials, variable seating with individual electric seats in the second row, and automatic doors underscore the commitment to quality in the new large full-size SUV.
Six or Seven-Seat Configurations with Electric Adjustment
Space defines the Q9, evident in seating design. For maximum business-class comfort, the optional six-seat layout features two electrically adjustable individual seats in the middle row with active ventilation in center panels of both cushion and backrest—comfort typically found in business class.

Up front, the lounge-like atmosphere is enhanced by ventilation and massage functions in the sports seat plus. The seven-seater model accommodates large families, with all three second-row seats fitted for child seats—a convenient feature for parents. All seats are partially power-adjustable as standard. Third-row seatbacks fold down individually via electric controls for quick switching between seating and storage space.
First Audi with All-Electric Door Operation
For the first time in an Audi, all doors operate electrically. Opening and closing is intuitive and effortless via key, myAudi app, MMI, brake pedal, or seatbelt buckle. Wide opening angles ease entry with heavy shopping bags or strollers.

Extensive surround sensors with obstacle detection stop the door if insufficient room exists—especially useful in tight parking spaces. This feature can improve road safety by detecting approaching cyclists or other road users.
Panoramic Sunroof with Individual Segment Control
The standard panoramic sunroof measures approximately 1.5 square meters and opens wide for open-air experience. Those preferring shade can press a button to switch one or more of nine individually controllable segments in laminated safety glass to opaque for glare protection.

Standard coated laminated glass reflects infrared light and blocks more than 99.5 percent UV radiation, eliminating conventional blind necessity. When parked, the roof automatically turns opaque preventing external viewing.
Upon starting, the most recent setting automatically restores. The top trim features illumination: 84 LEDs bathe the roof in one of 30 colors matching selected ambient lighting.
4D Sound System and Interaction Light Integration
Lighting sets the scene inside the SUV. In every Q9, contour lighting in dashboard and doors accentuates interior width. Full and atmospheric illumination is standard for front doors and optional for rear doors.
Indirect lighting beneath the Audi MMI panoramic display and in the center console creates a subtle floating effect. The dynamic interaction light in the ambient light package plus is a continuous LED light strip spanning full interior width supporting interaction between occupants and vehicle.

Audi optimally combines interaction light with the updated Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 4D sound. The IAL uses its “experiences” feature to sync with music rhythm, creating immersive experience by matching color scheme to track’s cover art.
It builds on the previous 3D sound system with headrest speakers enabling personal phone calls, navigation prompts, and surround sound without acoustic distractions for other passengers. Actuators in front seats add extra sensory dimension, making music not only heard but physically felt.
Premium Material Selection and Storage Solutions
Audi has curated a harmonious, high-quality selection of materials and colors. For the Q9, the brand expands interior options with new fabric and wood trims. Premium upholstery from wool such as alpaca fiber, Dinamica microfiber, leather and leatherette blends, and fine Nappa leather contribute to elegant character.

Decorative elements in fine grain ash natural silk beige, lime structure natural, or carbon fiber weave with basalt gray accents further refine the interior. New colors such as tamarind brown and stone beige round out the wide selection.
Audi’s largest SUV offers generous, thoughtfully integrated storage solutions. The redesigned center console provides flexibility and modern charging options, with two wireless charging pads compliant with Qi2.2 standard and USB-C charging ports delivering up to 100 watts. The wireless dual charger enables fast charging of two smartphones simultaneously.
A new aluminum rail system integrated into trunk sides allows users to secure cargo in three dimensions with sliding hooks and adjustable anchors. Audi includes a roof rack for standard roof rails with every new Q9.
Audi will reveal the full potential of the Q9 at its world premiere in Summer 2026.
