Alpine A290 Rallye in the customers racing world, a high-performance, 100% electric offer

Alpine A290 Rallye, a high-performance, 100% electric offer in the customers racing world

Alpine unveils the rally version of the A290, the first-ever electric Alpine designed for customers racing, ahead of the Rallye Rouergue Rodez Aveyron Occitanie (3–5 July 2025).

Named A290 Rallye, this new car, developed by the Viry-Châtillon teams, will be assembled in the competition workshop at the Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé.

To mark its 70th anniversary, Alpine is uncovering its first racing car from its new carbon-neutral range, offering customers the opportunity to discover the world of rallying through various types of events, attract new partners, and enjoy all the qualities of the A290. The A290 Rallye has all the racing genes that Jean Rédélé gave Alpine when he created the brand!

A genuine gateway to electric competition and designed in line with the latest rally regulations, the A290 is now in the starting blocks. Ready to prove itself in various disciplines, the A290 Rallye will showcase its versatility across a wide range of formats, whether within one-make cups or in open competition.

And it won’t be long before it’s up against the clock. To start, a single-rally challenge will be organised in France before the end of 2025. Bringing together the first A290 Rally cars delivered to a limited number of competitors, this rally, along with all the promotion of the A290 Rallye, will draw on the savoir-faire and core values familiar to Renault customers competition, including high-level technical and sporting support, with specific prizes up for grabs.

To welcome competitors entering with their A290 Rallye, an Alpine-themed environment will be made available to them, with a specific recharging infrastructure. Depending on the location, this will use a variety of environmentally friendly energy supply technologies.

In addition, the A290 Rallye can also be used to compete independently in local competitions.

An exclusive Alpine Stores classification will provide the Alpine sales network with a high-value marketing communication tool and a first-class connection with A290 Rallye drivers and teams.

These events will showcase the full potential of Alpine Racing’s first electric racing hot hatch, carrying forward the brand’s long-standing spirit and tradition of motorsport commitment.

A comprehensive racing preparation

The development of the Alpine A290 competition version perfectly meets the technical requirements for crew safety, featuring a welded roll cage and Sabelt bucket seats, both of which comply with the latest FIA regulations.

The engine’s 220 hp and 300 Nm are transmitted to the front axle with the help of a ZF limited-slip differential, delivering first-rate performance. As a consequence, both the gearbox and the electronic management system have been updated. The A290 Rallye is equipped with the latest electrical monitoring systems to ensure the optimal use of its EV technology.

Like the best rally cars currently competing, braking is provided at the front by 6-piston monoblock callipers and 350mm discs. In contrast, at the rear, single-piston callipers work on 280mm discs, all with Alpine Racing’s specific race-type ABS control. Lastly, the integration of the indispensable hydraulic handbrake completes the development of the braking system of this competition version.

The A290 Rallye is based on the excellent chassis of the standard A290, with running gear adapted by Alpine Racing to the racing world. It features a specific suspension system fitted with ALP Racing Suspension shock absorbers. The special 8′ x 18′ EVO Corse wheels are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport A tyres.

Lastly, because sound is an integral part of the experience for both the public and rally drivers, a new innovative system will enable the A290 Rallye to emit a sound that correlates with the vehicle’s speed and throttle position.

The price of the Alpine A290 Rallye is set at €59,990, excluding VAT, for the complete, assembled, and painted car.
